Toning for Peace
In the book, The Unknown Mother, the main character has a Dickens-esque experience dropping in unseen on a vocal toning circle where she is introduced to vocal toning for the first time. Later in the book, she attends a toning circle in the flesh to experience first-hand the many benefits toning has to offer.
Toning for Peace is something I started at a place in Black Mountain, North Carolina called the Light Center over 3 years ago. In that time, it has grown to include several local guest facilitators as well as circle hosts in places as far away as Florida and Ontario. Here in Western North Carolina, we meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday April through December at the Light Center. Together we explore our voices as means of expression and Divine communion.
I invite anyone interested in learning more about the art of vocal toning to get involved. Anyone can become a circle host through a simple application at the website to bring the practice of toning to a community near you. No experience? No problem! This PDF will help you get started, and I’m here to help answer your questions and point you to the resources you might need to get your toning circle up and toning.
